THE PROFESSIONAL GARDEN DESIGN COURSE

PLUMPTON COLLEGE

THE ESTATE
The courses are all taught at Plumpton College (unless otherwise stated) which is situated in the centre of its own 567 hectare estate which has a commercial farm, horticultural and equine units and a vineyard, all of which are used extensively by students.

As the College is situated in a rural location, students are advised to travel by car. There are ample parking facilities available. Lewes is the most convenient railway station and there is a bus service from the railway station to Plumpton. A timetable should be consulted for exact times.

DESIGN STUDIO
The design studio, where all the lectures take place, is a new building fully equipped with drawing boards and computerized overhead projector, plan storage and coffee making facilities.

RESOURCES CENTRE
The Resources Centre (library with computers) has a range of horticultural books, magazines, etc. relating to all gardening topics. There is free access to the Internet and use of a computer for any necessary written work.

REFECTORY
The refectory can be used for all meals at a subsidized price where carefully prepared meals are cooked by the head chef, Julian. There is also a snack bar shop for coffee and sandwiches through out the day.

An old church lies at the centre of the college grounds.
