A meeting to discuss the requirements for the garden is the first stage of the design process. The site analysis helps in identifying the existing plants, and features to be considered in the design as well as the feel for the garden.
SURVEY
The garden is measured and the levels taken. The information is draughted on site on a computer.
A 3D computer generated "fly-by" may be useful at this point. Click here to see examples of our 3D computer aided designs.
OUTLINE PROPOSAL
The outline proposal is the design solution in loose format. It consists of a hand draughted outline sketch plan drawn to scale using the information gained during the survey and site analysis. It includes perspective sketches and sample images to help convey the ideas (much like a 'mood board').
DESIGN DETAILING
This is an accurate computerised plan drawing of the design including levels, materials and hard landscape patterns.
CONSTRUCTION DETAILING
Construction detailing includes: an onsite visit by a nominated contractor, working drawings and submission of a price for the proposed works.
PLANTING PLAN
A carefully thought out planting plan is composed showing the exact location of each botanically named plant including a separate list of the plants with a price for each plant.
LIGHTING AND IRRIGATION PLAN
A map of the garden showing details of the cables/pipes, ducting and suggested positions and fittings for both lighting and irrigation.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND MONITORING
Monitoring the construction keeps the designer and the client in control of the project so that it not only runs smoothly but that the garden will end up as close as possible to the design.
MAINTENANCE
A professional maintenance routine ensures that the development of the garden remains in keeping with the original wishes of the client and makes sure the garden stays loking great throughout the year.
